CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITIES
ENVIRONOMENT
We at the SPTC are aware of the harm which vehicle emission has on the environment.
So with the aim of reducing the environmental impact from our operations, we ensure that we operate within the legal requirement of our country.
This is done by;
- Carrying out routine checks on our buses
- Monitoring the engines of our buses so that they can be replaced as and when necessary
- Encouraging our drivers to turn off their engines if their bus is going to be parked in one spot for more than one minute.
Furthermore, we are working towards acquiring ISO: 9001 Standards.
COMMUNITY
The SPTC sponsors local charities, businesses and schools. We also meet with representatives for each of the Districts regularly to hear their views, concerns and suggestions with regards to the services we provide. In addition we hold talks in schools and work places thus bringing us closer to the commuters who make use of our services on a daily basis.
STAFF
We offer regular trainings or refresher courses for our staff members which are either conducted in-house or with the assistance of external organizations. We have a number of Committees such as the Workers Committee, Drivers Committee and Sports Committee which ensures that workers welfare is taken care of and that their queries /qualms are answered.
We encourage feedbacks from staff through meeting and surveys. We also have a number of benefits and incentives made available to our staff members such as free bus privileges and flower arrangements or fruit baskets in instances where staff members have been hospitalized.
